Apple’s iPhone X beat Samsung’s Galaxy S9 with a huge margin in worldwide sales for Q1 2018

The iPhone X has emerged the best selling phone in the entire world in 2018

The recently released iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9 are the top phones of the line phones this year and as always, they have been constantly pitting the phones against each other by the fans.

Despite all the hate, iPhone X got on its release, the phone has managed to easily outsell Samsung Galaxy S9 by a huge margin around the world during the first quarter of 2018.

A report was released by Strategy Analytics today which shows that iPhone remains the best selling phone in the world followed by iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The Apple iPhone X has sold 16 million units in the first quarter of 2018 which makes up 4.6% of the total market share in smartphones.

The regular iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have also secured 12.5 and 8.3 million sales respectively.

According to the report, Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus even lacks behind Xiaomi Redmi 5A which sold 5.4 million units opposed to S9 which managed to secure 5.3 million units sold around the world.

It is still unclear why Samsung Galaxy S9 phones didn’t manage to get a liking by the users. Experts believe the biggest give away was that Samsung tried to play it very safe this time.

The new Samsung Galaxy S9 has very few design changes. According to experts, people upgrade or buy a new phone when there are significant design changes on the phone. But since the new S9 series have a lot in common with the S8, people were less inclined to buy it.

In Pakistan, the same was observed where reportedly iPhone X still manage to sell more than Samsung counterpart.

The iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9 are both available in Pakistan starting at PKR 1,24,999 and PKR 76,999 respectively.
