New search engine to find the best food in Islamabad launched

A new startup aims to help you find good food and view expected bill before you order

Pakistani’s love for food is beyond anything. We love food so much that no matter what the occasion, we always celebrate by going out to dinner or lunch with our friends and family.

The love of food is also evident from numerous restaurants, cafe, and other eateries opening up nearly every month in every city of Pakistan. With so many eateries, it can easily become very confusing where to eat out.

Sometimes we have to restrict our choices by budget, other times we only want to go to places that are good or find a cuisine that we love. Currently, the only way to find food in Pakistan is by either searching it for on Google or Facebook.

But both of these search engines provide mix results and often omit many places of eating in any given city of Pakistan. To provide a solution to this, a new startup in Islamabad has just created a food-based search engine that lets you find the best food in your city through a database of hundreds of eateries, cafes, and restaurants.

The search engine is called and is currently in the test phase only available in Islamabad.

Using Maqami, you can find restaurants that are trending or have been newly opened. You can also search restaurants by category which includes searching by dessert parlors, breakfasts, luxury restaurants, pocket-friendly places, burgers, pizzas, rooftops, foreign only cuisine, BBQ, Coffee places, and Pakistani specials.

There is also a section which lists down all the currently available deals in Islamabad so you can plan ahead. But perhaps the best bit of Maqami, food search engine is that it lets you preview the bill before you head out.

Once you select a restaurant, you can preview the bill which tells you how much your bill will be after GST and service charges. This is great for planning ahead especially if you are limited by budget. can either be used from a desktop or through their app on the Apple Appstore and Google Play.

Maqami App works best on smartphones including Meizu Pro 7Huawei Y7 Prime 2018Samsung Galaxy C7, Xiaomi Note 5AXiaomi Mi A1iPhone XApple iPhone 8.
