Huawei Y6 2018 addition is a welcoming change in the entry-level smartphone market in Pakistan. This isn't your typical budget phone because it comes pre-installed with modern features that are otherwise found in high-end phones. 

For example, you'll get Face unlock right out of the box with a bezel-less design and a good specification set sheet to meet your demands. However, there are a couple of drawbacks as it is expected from any budget-friendly phone. Let's just have a detailed look at what the phone has to offer here.

Huawei Y6 2018 has a combination of metal and plastic but the phone never feels cheap in your hand. Both materials are combined in such a way that you rarely feel holding a bit of plastic in your hand. The only drawback is that the phone lacks a fingerprint scanner which is somewhat of a standard feature these days. But you get face unlock instead which is good enough. 

The phone is also thin and lightweight which adds to its attractiveness.

But since this is a budget phone, the fact that you'll have 75% screen area at the front is enough to satisfy most people. You'll be happy that you've got this phone especially if you like viewing full-screen content.

Below this beautiful phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon with Quad-core processor that should give you a smooth ride in most applications. There is also an Adreno 308 graphics processor inside which can play basic 3D games easily. Just don't expect the phone to run heavy video games of 2018. 

The phone houses a 3000mAh battery which is non-removable. Expect to get around 10 hours of operation with the phone especially because it does not have to power up too many pixels on the screen. 

The only disappointing thing about the phone is perhaps its 2GB RAM configuration with just 16GB of internal storage. Prepared to upgrade this storage immediately with a microSD card because 16GB is mostly taken up by stock applications and the operating system.

Out of the box, you'll get the latest Android 8.0 Oreo experience coupled with Huawei's Emotion UI 8.0.  Just like any other Huawei phone, it has a lot of bloatware preinstalled.

Camera is perhaps the most disappointing part of this phone. The phone has a single lens 13MP rear camera with a 5MP selfie camera with AR features on the front. Both the cameras will offer only average quality photos. 

In bright sunlight and good light profile, the photos will be enough to please your eyes. But when you put the cameras to low light situations, things get really messy. 

Verdict

The Huawei Y6 2018 is a refreshed version of the Y6 phone from last year. It offers a lot of power under a price tag that is easily affordable. The device also looks sleek and modern with a decent display. One thing is for sure, the set of features you get on this phone, you won't get it in other phones in this price category.
