The Lowest price of Huawei Y3 (2018) in Pakistan was Rs. 14,999.
The Huawei Y3 (2018) is doing something notable which deserves applaud. The Chinese Manufacturer is now trying their level best to reach out to the people in the lower class who have been deprived of good quality smartphones. Taking a leap of faith, they jumped into this unready, but the question remains; did they even bring their best to the table?
A new year, a new smartphone for Huawei. The Huawei Y3 (2018) has been launched for around a few months now which has allowed users to give their insights on this very affordable phone. The first Android Go phone for the company and it is currently being said that it, maybe not worth it at all and switching over from a high-end device to this, shall end terribly. That all might come down to opinion and preferences folks. A low-end economy phone with Android 8.0 running on it already might have some techies adding it to their Baskets on Amazon. But what about the rest?
The Huawei Y3 2018 is definitely an upgrade from its previous version and is far better, with a 5-inch Display which supports a resolution of 850 x 480 pixels and a conventional aspect ratio of 16:9. Although we know that Huawei usually gives the best display, this is something which Huawei could’ve made better since the Average user usually is used to a 5.5 Inch 18:9 screen. Most users with small hands have ease using a phone of such dimensions. So, if a device doesn’t support a user’s needs then the company is at fault.
Moving forward from that, despite modern phones having a USB-C port, Huawei is still lagging far behind on that part. It comes with microUSB 2.0 and a 3.5MM Audio Jack.
The Camera is at a quite uncomfortable position on the back, so even after applying the cover on the back, the camera sticks out just a bit. So, if you put it on a rough surface, a scratch is inescapable. The phone overall is available in three different colours, Gold, White and Grey. Also, worth noting is that the speakers are at the back which may or may not affect you much but, while calling you might face a few difficulties as they aren’t necessarily that powerful either.
It’s quite Light as well and weighs around 180 Grams so you won’t face much load while holding it.
Huawei Y3 (2018) is quite weak in this regard. With a 1.1 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 you cannot expect much work to get done on this. This combined with the measly 1GB ram will ensure you the fact that there shall be times when the phone freezes and is just stuck. Adding more salt to the wounds, there is only 8GB internal storage which albeit can be expanded to around 128 GB. Which in return shall suffice.
This is the part where people decide if it’s a phone worth buying as nowadays a good camera is necessary. The camera is truly just satisfactory as an 8MP back camera, cannot and will not fulfil anybody’s needs. It might be helpful to anyone who needs getting used to todays technology or if you intend to use it as a side phone. The Camera is surprisingly supposed to record videos in full 1080p which is quite unexpected coming from a phone of such a price range
The Front Camera is just below the standard of everyday phones, 2MP is not something which everyone is used. It doesn’t produce quality images, as it isn’t supposed to. A Random selfie now and then maybe? Nothing special can come out of this.
It’s an economy phone, don’t expect much of this. It’s a 2280 mAH battery. Not really much of an upgrade from the 2017’s Y3. It’s quite less if we go by normal standards, but then the Display of the phone doesn’t ask much so I’m pretty sure it can easily suffice.
Considering the price tag for this and the specification, I’d say Huawei are asking a lot for something which isn’t actually worth it. If you’re willing to use this as a side phone then it might be perfect, if not I’d consider something else.
