2018 has brought us a lot of stuff in the mobile world, USB-C becoming the mainstream, A notch, bezel less display, AI mode in camera department, and much more, of course. LG Q7 has taken all that and added the LG twist by bringing in some more new twists. Let's see where it takes what and how it performs next to the competitors.
The Lowest price of LG Q7 in Pakistan was Rs. 999.
LG Q7 comes with a lot of LG twists that one takes a few moments to understand as to why and how they reached to that decision. Like that one time they decided the second screen on their LG V20 series and everyone was shocked but it never became a mainstream thing and instead 2018 took down the road of notches and bezel less displays. But still, they have never been afraid of trying out new things and have made such decisions with this LG Q7 as well. But before we get to them, we have got to inform you that if you have had the honor to own the predecessor, you would definitely recognize the vast improvements that have been done. Time to tear it all apart then!
This is where LG Q7 decided to do the most ridiculous thing on the planet; they decided on an LCD panel for their LG Q7! Does that make the display bad? Absolutely not. That is why we all love LG, they rarely ever compromise on quality. The LCD is powered by a 1080 x 2160 resolution with a 442 pixel density and comes in the yes, you guessed it, the 18:9 display with a notch! Like it or not, its here to stay until the industry finds a way to get rid of the front facing camera (Oppo did a twist on the front camera, you should search that up if you are interested).
As far as the design is concerned, they have gone with the fingerprint sensor on the rear located right below the camera that is not dual to all our surprise? It's 2018 man, give us the dual camera! LG Q7 has a 13 MP rear camera and on the front, you will find an 8 MP camera made to do justice to your selfie desires. The USB-C port is there which is great and you will thankfully still find the headphone jack. Moreover, LG is one of the few companies to care about the audio given that most ignore it as it's not as widely covered in the reviews so it doesn't matter. I am glad to see that LG has installed the DTS system on their LG Q7 which makes it the go to device for the audio enthusiasts.
Android Oreo, DAC, IP68 Resistance, it seems that LG is going all out with LG Q7!
LG Q7 has been called out to be the budget version of LG G7 QThink, which is actually true. LG Q7 comes with a Mediatek chip set that I am not a huge fan of, but let's not get biased here now shall we? It packs the Mediatek MT6750S which has an octa core processor clocking 4 of its processors at 1.0 and the other 4 at 1.5 for better efficiency and battery optimization. It creates confusion however when there are different variants with different cameras at the rear and rams but oh well. The LG Q7 has Mali-T860MP2 for the graphic processing and comes with 32 gigs of storage and 3 gigs of RAM to do all the chores you need to get done with on every day basis. It's nothing of a show stopper, but the specifications are still quite decent because at the end of the day, it's all about how it performs, and also of course about the Antutu Score! This is where it falls short and gives the average score of 58K. So tread carefully if you are in for just performance.
Sadly, you will not find a dual camera here at the back nor a magnificent selfie camera. But what you will find is LG's software trying to do justice to your clicks with it's wide angles and other plethora of features that it contains so yeah. The front facing camera is 8 MP and the rear camera comes with a 13 MP lens and if you are not a camera enthusiast, you will find the quality of the pictures to be just enough for your daily snaps and random clicks. Your videos will be recorded at 1080p with 30fps with LG Q7.
The battery on LG Q7 is quite decent and fulfilling for the common man. 3000 mAh can last you a day and more if you are not a vivid fan of the social media. The USB-C helps out big time in making the struggle of charging bigger batteries so we have to applaud LG for endorsing this change, given that a lot are still not adapting only God knows why.
It has a Stereo radio FM, dual sim slots that are also hybrid which means inserting the SD card would take away the space for your secondary sim card. LG Q7 supports LTE, GSM, HSPA. The audio system is extremely good, and the rest, we have already discussed so thats about it on the topic of connectivity.
LG Q7 is a phone trying it's level best to both better the trends of 2018 by adapting the majority of them and adding the LG twist on some others where it has had to clearly cut costs (camera), but that does not make the phone bad. What does annoy me is the fact they did not really focus that much on performance and instead marched on the trends. Anyhow, if you are an everyday user looking to buy brand phones that come cheap and are in line with the trends, LG Q7 is the go to device!
