Surprisingly, Xiaomi has become one of the most popular technology brands in Pakistan. There was a time when people were skeptical of Chinese brands. However, as the higher-end brands get more expensive every year, Xiaomi is now taking advantage of that. They want to provide affordable everyday gadgets to the average consumer.

Xiaomi hopes that every one of us tries their devices, and since most of them work well, we also end up recommending them. This way, we are starting to see Xiaomi products become almost like a household name. The Redmi Airdots are a great example of this.

However, the different variations are quite confusing. So let’s quickly break them down.

Redmi Airdots - Original

The Redmi Airdots are very inexpensive. That’s most likely the reason for their nationwide success. Fit and finish is quite decent, although the case is made out of plastic. However, it can take a beating, so it is durable. It uses a micro-USB to charge up, and the case provides a lot of battery life.

The case takes about 2 hours to charge up, and then earbuds inside take 1.5 hours total. They easily last all day. The sound quality is good enough for the price.

Redmi Airdots 2

The Redmi Airdots 2 doesn’t really make any radical changes to the original Airdots. They now have added Bluetooth 5.0, since some people were having connectivity issues. Apart from that, they’ve also added Game Mode, which dramatically decreases the latency. 

You can seamlessly call up your voice assistant as well. Sound quality is the same, but battery efficiency is slightly improved.

Xiaomi Mi Airdots

There is a lot of confusion between the Redmi Airdots and the Xiaomi Mi Airdots. The difference just isn’t in the color. The white MI Airdots look and feel a bit more premium, and the same is with the charging case. These Mi Airdots have a touch surface, instead of the usual button. They also use the AAC codec, which provides better sound.
