Introduction:

The Huawei P20 Pro is an amped-up version of the Huawei P20 which is currently known as the best camera smartphone in the world. Display and Design:

The Huawei P20 Pro sports an AMOLED 6.1-inch FHD display with an awkward aspect ratio of 18.7:9 which is due to the edge-to-edge design. The colors on the display are quite impressive and the AMOLED display ensures that there is a clear distinction between the blacks and the whites. Overall, the display is very sharp and the image quality is impressive.

In terms of design, the Huawei P20 Pro features an attractive design with an edge-to-edge display and a glass on the front and back. The home button on the front doubles as a fingerprint sensor and the smartphone features an aluminum frame as well. The build quality is solid and the Huawei P20 Pro is IP67 water resistant as well. 

Performance:

The Huawei P20 Pro comes with Huawei’s own Kirin 970 chipset with an octa-core processor and a Mali-G72 GPU. The P20 Pro performs quite well but lags just behind other flagship that have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The benchmark scores for the Huawei P20 Pro are 3252, 39945, and 209884 in Basemark OS II 2.0, Basemark X, and AnTuTu 6.

Camera:

The camera on the Huawei P20 Pro is simply spectacular and it can be regarded as one of the best, if not the best, camera in a smartphone. The tri-camera setup of a 40MP + 20MP (monochrome) + 8 MP manages to produce real-like photos that have an exceptional level of detail with brilliant colors. The camera setup features Leica optics and depth detection for autofocus with Huawei’s own Master AI software for improved results. Overall, the camera can take very sharp photos with natural colors and high level of detail under both daylight and lowlight. Not just this, but it can produce these photos at a very large scale of 40MP! As for the front camera, there is a basic 24MP camera which can produce excellent photos but only when you get the focus just right (but the lack of autofocus on the front camera does not help with that).

Battery and Connectivity:

The battery life of the Huawei P20 Pro is very impressive as well. The P20 Pro comes with a 4000 mAh battery that has an endurance rating of 89 hours. This means that you can easily churn out a day and a half with the P20 Pro while browsing the web, playing videos, and making calls. There is fast charging with the SuperCharge adapter as well which can take the Huawei P20 Pro from 0 to 46% in just 30 minutes.

There is Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and a USB 3.1 Type-C connector for connectivity but Huawei has still not come up to the standard of Bluetooth 5.0. Other than this, there is no 3.5 mm audio jack as well so you will need to use an adapter to connect your headphones with the smartphone.
