With the summer coming in strong and multiple heat waves expected this season, it is going to get hot and humid quicker than you can imagine. Now is the perfect time to invest in a room air cooler.
Room air coolers are small air coolers that cool your room with the help of water. These small units not only cool your room but are also small and convenient to be kept directly in the room.
The problem, however, is that there are at least 3 different room air coolers available in Pakistan with very little explanation how each type works and which is best for which situation.
This small guide will help you understand how different room air coolers work in Pakistan so you can buy one using a calculated decision. Most room air coolers in Pakistan are categorized into two types. These are:
- Personal air coolers or room air coolers
- Desert air coolers
Let’s have a brief look at how each work.
Personal air cooler / Room air coolers
Personal air coolers or room air coolers are small in size and work best for medium-sized rooms that do not require excessive cooling. They have a water tank capacity of 20-30 liters which means that you may have to fill it multiple times in a day if you use it throughout the day.
Room air coolers usually use a blower to cool the room. You have access to control the speed of the blower which is good enough for a small to medium room.
One of the biggest advantages of these personal air coolers is that they are economical when compared to other types of coolers in Pakistan.
These personal air coolers also require very little power to operate which means you will be able to use it on your UPS too.
Desert Air Cooler
Desert Air Coolers are slightly larger than personal air coolers and are perfect to cool medium to large rooms. These coolers are excellent if you want to cool your living room or drawing room. The water tank capacity of these coolers ranges from 30-60 liters which means that you will probably won’t have to fill it up multiple times in a day.
A single refill should easily get you 12 hours of cooling before requiring a full refill.
Desert air coolers use huge fans to cool the room hence they are great for bigger rooms. But keep in mind that the bigger the fan motor is the more power it will consume. These coolers cannot work on UPS alone and are also a tad bit more expensive than personal air coolers.
Tower Air Coolers
Last but not the least is the tower air coolers. These are relatively new in Pakistan. These room coolers work in similar fashion to desert air cooler and personal air coolers. The only major difference is the design and the cooling power.
Tower air coolers have up to 12-liter water capacity which does not require a refill in a single day. Tower Air coolers are excellent to look at but are very expensive compared to other types of coolers.
